Are there any side effects of magnesium bath flakes/oils/gels?

Magnesium products are widely considered safe to use. In some cases, you may experience a slight tingling or itchy sensation (which often isn’t a cause for concern, but a sign the magnesium is working its magic). Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. If the itching isn't comfortable, simply wash off with a wet cloth. Always start slow with one spray or application and build up from there.

Are magnesium bath flakes/oils/gels good for kids?

Our magnesium bath flakes are suitable for kids aged 3 months and older. Parents love it to relax their little ones before they drift off to the land of nod. We recommend you always supervise your little ones in a magnesium bath to make sure the water doesn’t meet their eyes and mouth. We also recommend using the original magnesium spray and gel as the SPORT version can sometimes smell quite strong to little noses.

Why do magnesium bath flakes/oils/gels sting, itch or tingle when used?

This is a sign the magnesium is doing its job. There are also links between low levels of magnesium and stinging sensations, which may suggest those who experience these symptoms are particularly low in magnesium. You also may feel these sensations if you have particularly sensitive skin. If you’re unsure, consult your trusted health care practitioner.

Who can use the Herbal Bath Cycle Support?

We do recommend this for ages 12 and over. However, the magnesium flakes supplied with this can be used by 3 months and older just by themselves.
